Wow. That is the word that comes to mind when I see Mikko Lagerstedt's photos. Mikko is an incredibly talented, self taught, photographer who only started taking photos in December of 2008. I wish I could share every photo he has taken because they are all that good. Each one is well composed, has an amazing atmosphere, and incredible lighting. You could get lost for hours browsing his photostream.
Barbara Cole's Painted Ladies series blurs the line between paintings and photographs. Influenced by a painting by Lucien Freud, she began experimenting with an SX-70 Polaroid camera to perfect her technique. She created these photos by playing with studio lighting and manipulating the surface image to add dimension and the painterly quality.
