There is something absolutely wonderful about this mixed media art by Jose Romussi. He weaves colorful threads into beautiful vintage photos of dancers to create some awesome pieces of art. You can check out some more cool and different styles of art by Jose on his Flickr page.
I highly recommend the photo work of Zhang Jingna. She perfectly captures her models in elegant and expressive photos.
This is a fantastic Batman comic illustration by illustrator Jock. It is composed mostly of simple lines and coloring, but the compilation of them creates a really impressive illustration. I find the "the black mirror" text at the bottom especially effective. It has a shaky handwritten style that further exemplifies the ominous feeling of the piece.
Ricardo Martinez's beautiful scratchboard illustrations are highly stylized and extensively detailed, which leads to some very eye-catching work.
I know this series has made its run around the internet, but I'd still like to share it. This series was created by Serena Malyon, who took Vincent van Gogh paintings and used Photoshop to create the tilt-shift effect.
Alexander Korzer-Robinson creates his book art pieces by cutting around some illustrations in the book and removing others. This art focuses on the "inner landscape". Visit his site here for more of his work.
The creator behind the wonderful Mila's Daydreams hosted a wonderful fan art competition. These wonderfully creative scenes were chosen as the finalists for the competition, but there were a ton of great submissions. George Chamoun has created some really cool photo collages of old and new Hollwood.Surprisngly, there was no morphing of the images to fit together. They are two photos that happen to align incredibly well. The pairs in order are: Natalie Portman/Audrey Hepburn, Angelina Jolie/Elizabeth Taylor, George Clooney/Cary Grant, Robert Pattinson/James Dean and Scarlett Johansson/Marilyn Monroe. There are some striking similarities in their likenesses and poses.
Have you ever wondreed what San Francisco would look like with flat streets? Dan Ng's fabulous series does just that. People and building appear to be in a strange and disoriented state. It's a fun and whimsical portrayal of city that is known for it's steep but wonderful hills.
